Channel Sales Manager

Job Description:

As a Channel Sales Manager for a space-saving furniture brand, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the brand’s distribution channels, driving sales growth, and building strong relationships with channel partners. You will play a crucial role in developing channel strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the brand’s products are effectively promoted and sold through various channels. Your primary focus will be on achieving sales targets, fostering channel partner relationships, and maximizing revenue in alignment with the brand’s goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Channel Development and Strategy: Develop and implement channel strategies to expand the brand’s market reach and increase sales. Identify and evaluate potential channel partners, considering factors such as market coverage, customer segmentation, and competitive positioning.
  2. Partner Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners, including retailers, distributors, e-commerce platforms, and interior design firms. Provide ongoing support, training, and resources to enhance their understanding of the brand’s products, features, and benefits.
  3. Sales Target Achievement: Set sales targets for channel partners and work closely with them to ensure achievement. Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to drive sales growth. Conduct regular business reviews and provide recommendations for enhancing performance.
  4. Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute channel-specific marketing campaigns, promotions, and sales enablement tools. Provide guidance to channel partners on effective merchandising, pricing strategies, and product positioning to maximize sales potential.
  5. Market Analysis and Insights: Stay updated on market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging customer needs, and potential areas for product development or customization.
  6. Training and Product Knowledge: Conduct training sessions for channel partners to ensure they have a thorough understanding of the brand’s products, features, and benefits. Provide product knowledge resources, sales tools, and training materials to enable channel partners to effectively sell the brand’s offerings.
  7. Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate and finalize contracts with channel partners, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and compliance with brand policies. Monitor contract compliance and address any issues or disputes that may arise.
  8. Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Track and analyze channel sales performance, prepare regular reports and provide insights to senior management. Forecast sales volumes, revenue, and market trends to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience in channel sales management, preferably within the furniture or home décor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution channels, retail operations, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with channel partners.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth through channel partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and consumer behaviour to inform decision-making.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Familiarity with marketing and promotion strategies to drive product visibility and demand.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, sales tools, and data analytics platforms.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for channel partner meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
